TEGO Antifoam 793 is particularly suitable as defoamer in aqueous based systems. It is used in a wide range of industrial applications, such as Metalworking fluids (MWF) Textile auxiliaries Surfactant concentratesTEGO Antifoam 793 can be formulated into concentrates to produce low foaming fluids. Furthermore,it can be used in the ready-to-use fluid as a tank side defoamer.In the case of MWF, TEGO Antifoam 793 is used in semi-synthetic fluids and soluble oils if incorporatedinto the concentrate. As a tank side defoamer, it is suitable for all different types of water-based MWF.In alkaline metal cleaners it can be recommended as tank side defoamer.Properties / Benefits
Dosage / Handling
- TEGO Antifoam 793 provides good foam knock down and hold down properties in a broad range of different aqueous based systems.
- TEGO Antifoam 793 is free of silicone oils. Therefore, it has no adverse effect on the finishing process (painting/electro-plating, etc.) of the treated parts.
- TEGO Antifoam 793 is highly compatible. This allows for the formulation of highly stable concentrates. It also does not deteriorate the shelf-life of ready-to-use emulsions.
- TEGO Antifoam 793 is water dispersible, which allows for easy handling.
TEGO Antifoam 793 is used in a wide range of different applications. Therefore, recommended dose levels may vary. As a general dose level, we recommend 0.1 - 1.0 % in the concentrates and 0.005 - 0.1 % as a tank side defoamer.If used as a tank side defoamer, TEGOAntifoam 793 can be applied as delivered or as predilution in water. We recommend a dilution in a mixing ratio of 1 : 3 (i. e. 1 part TEGO Antifoam 793 and 3 parts water).Aqueous dilution of TEGOAntifoam 793 may proceed by adding the desired amount of water slowly to TEGO Antifoam 793 while stirring gently at low shear rates.These pre-dilutions are not stable long-term and have to be used within a few hours.
